About our Children's Ministry Caravan Program

The Caravan Program is for children four years old through the 6th grade.  We are a Bible based scouting program to introduce children to Christ and teach them about the Nazarene Heritage.  They earn badges to give them a taste of many different skills.  They learn Core Values and do Ministry projects and read Missionary books.  Under the direction of adult guides and helpers, children learn the abilities to help them develop as God planned--physically, socially, mentally and spiritually.  The Caravaners go on field trips and have fun making friends along the way.

The Benson Buddies are ages four year to six years, but not yet in first grade.

Searchers are first grade to second grade.  They are Hunters and Questers and will earn badges, rank badges and learn their "I Believes".

Explorers are third and fouth graders.  They are Sentry and Scouts.  Here they will start learning the Articles of Faith and what they mean.  They will also earn skill badges, read missionary books and participate in Mission Projects.

Adventurers are the fifth and sixth grade students.  They will continue to learn the last eight Articles of Faith.  They will be more involved in their skill badges as they become more complicated.  They will also read Missionary Books and particiapte in Ministry Projects.

The highest Caravan Awards are as follows:

Searchers - Milton Bunker Award

Explorers - Esther Carson Winans Award

Adventurer - Haldor Lillenas Award

Phineas F. Bresee Award which goes to the Caravaner who has finished the entire program.   This is a very prestiges award!

 The children look forward to our yearly camping trip at Indian Hills Camp in Jamul, Ca. where there is swimming with waterslides, hiking, obsticale courses, a zipline, archery, petting zoo, and of course the Pinewood derby races!

Caravan Pictures 

We had a blast at the Citrus Harvest Festival on March 27th!  There were face paintings and the Caravaners sold baked goods and Easter crafts to earn money for Caravan Camp!

On April 25, we had a car wash.  Here is Isaiah working hard washing cars to earn money for camp.

It is so nice when we all work together!

We had some of the children hold homemade posters for the car wash.

Near the end of the day, some of the children needed a good washing too! 

Even some of the Benson Buddies were doing their very best to help out.  They were able to wash parts of the cars that the older kids were missing!

A special thanks to all of the Caravaners, guides and volunteers who were able to help earn money for Caravan camp.  They earned over $250.00 in only four hours.  Way to go kids!
