Prime Time Ministry

(Adults 50+)

 

 

 

Purpose:  The salvation, spiritual nurturing, growth and continued service to and of maturing adults (50+) in our Church and community.

Goal:  To disciple...which involves helping to win, disciple and train other mature adults, encoruaging them to be growing, service-oriented Christians.  To servie as a Christian role model to younger generations by:

Cultivating spiritual resources through daily Bible reading, study and personal prayer

Attending services regularly

Being a responsible, viable member of the prayer chain.

Sending notes and cards to Sut-ins and/or those who have been missing Church services

Attending Church functions as much as possible...presence speaks louder than words or work.

"For the Lord your God will bless you in all your harvest and in all the work of your hands, and your joy will be complete." - Dueteronomy 16:15

   

 Goal:  To serve others...Which involves active service, regardless of age, depending on ability and desired involvement in areas such as: being a prayer partner, transportation assistance, babsitting for new mothers, telphone/home visitations, being a grandparent role model for children, Work and Witness teams, intergenerational mentoring

"In all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds..."  Titus 2:7

Goal:  To maintain comfort and security...Which involves working cooperatively with different agencies to provide information on issues such as health, long term care options, legal assistance.

Attend siminars and workshops addressing issues specific to adults 50+ and older

Pray for those facing issues of hoursing, health care, etc.

Participate in and/or pray for support groups:  grief, widowhood, health crisis, losses, etc.

"May the Lord make your love increase  and overflow for each other."

Goal:  To grow spiritually, socially, mentally, and emotionally...Which involves participating in  and encouraging others to participate in activities such as: fellowship events, luncheons/dinners, tours/outings, workshops, craft/skill-building opportunities, Bible studies, support groups of all kinds.

Participate in the life of the congregation.

Participation in tours/outings specially designed for Prime Timers.

Share your special talent/gift with younger folks, i.e. wood working, crocheting, knitting, painting.

Participation in District Prime Time events.

Help plan, organize and participate in special local Prime Time events.

"And God is able to provide you with ever blessing in abundance, so that by always having evough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work."
